NaNoWriMo—Will I Be Ready?

National Novel Writing Month is still two and a half weeks out, and I wonder if I can get my outline done by then in order to start on my first determined novel attempt. Even with the twelve pages of outline I have so far, I’ve been cutting and editing, changing things around and trying to make sure it makes sense.

I won’t be officially entering, even if I do get my outline done, but I want this year to participate in the spirit of it. So I type away, though it seems I more often than not end up staring at the screen rather blankly, tired from working the night shift and my mind void of all thoughts, intelligent or otherwise.

I do get on a roll sometimes, typing out a couple pages of scenes and circumstances, but then the blonde creeps back in and I get distracted or lose all momentum as my train of thought runs out of either track or fuel.

So, I’ve got about an hour and a half until I need to get ready for work. I’ll ignore any pangs of guilt I feel for writing rather than staring at the job sites I’ve already gone over time and again when I know I need patience for that. So instead…..let’s see how far I can get in the outline today.
